As Vietnam’s largest carrier in terms of domestic passengers, Vietjet is ready to take back its share in the global aviation map. The flight brought more than 200 tourists from Seoul to the tourist island under the pilot 'Covid-19 vaccine passport' programme in Vietnam.

“Following Vietnam’s ‘Live fully’ campaign, Vietjet has been more than ready to resume our entire international services to welcome tourists back to Vietnam. We are committed to always offering new flight services and travel experience on its flights," commented Vietjet managing director Dinh Viet Phuong.

The Hanoi-based carrier has implemented various new business solutions, created new revenue-enhancing projects for the future, developed aviation services and strengthened its cargo transportation business to adapt to the pandemic. It has also developed a new package of products and services that combine air tickets with leisure travel, testing programmes and health insurance to protect customers on Vietjet flights.

Vietjet has also implemented measures to optimise operating costs and has negotiated agreements with key aircraft manufacturers and lessors to reschedule payments in accordance with the current market situation. The carrier has made significant progress to amend terms with parties and will continue to propose payment schedules that help Vietjet's financial recovery and development.

Vietnam’s aviation market is slated to fully re-open in December 2021. Throughout the pandemic, Vietjet has invested and completed a comprehensive IT application and digital transformation programme.

The carrier has implemented features on its mobile application and website to record each passenger's testing declaration and vaccination status. The airline also launched test certificates on its website and applied QR code check-in at airports with guidelines for health monitoring and prevention of epidemics. It also introduced wellbeing measures such as yoga exercises, anti-epidemic protective products, as well as antibacterial hygiene practices on its domestic flights to protect passengers.
